Guelph Legion proposes to introduce a Veterans Memorial Banner program in response to several requests.
A fact-finding meeting has been held with Guelph Mayor Cam Guthrie and the Downtown Guelph Business Association but first, we need to find out how many people would be interested in sponsoring a Banner before proceeding further.
We need your feedback and comments please to the Guelph Legion Office at email@example.com
How many of you would be interested in sponsoring a Memorial Banner to honour a Veteran member of your family or friends?
The goal of this initiative is to engage our local community in honouring and remembering our local veterans - Veterans Memorial Banner Programs are now appearing in many communities locally and throughout Canada.
This is not a fundraiser for the Legion.
The estimated total cost by DGBA of producing and mounting each banner is approximately $225 and it is anticipated the life of the Banner would be 3-5 years. Totally supported by sponsorships. We are investigating other avenues and pricing.
Each banner would highlight a Veteran and they would be hung on light posts in the downtown area during October to Remembrance Day, displaying:
• Picture of the Veteran
• Name of the veteran, the era of service (WWI, WWII, Korean War, etc.)
• Branch of the military the veteran was involved with; and
• Names of the banner sponsors
looking forward to hearing from you
